The article you are reading now was not supposed to be written today. It was a coincidence that contributed to his birth.
We rarely turn on the TV. We prefer the sounds of the studio, the clatter of jars and the sound of unsticking tape piercing the body with which we seal the boxes of shipments. However, like normal people, we sometimes watch a movie in a horizontal position with a bowl of popcorn on our stomach.
* music straight from horror *
And this is her coming. Advertising break. After the powder that clears everything, the presentation of a new collection of swimsuits and a clever kitten asking for food, we see a spot about a cosmetic "inspired by nature, fully natural ingredients". It is known for a long time that this is our topic, so we choose to check it out at the earliest opportunity. And by God! - when it came into our hands, it turned out to be not that super-eco.
How is it that we run around the offices with our tongues out, make sure, check - in order to be able to defend the words with which we describe our cosmetics? And others can deceive us so brazenly?
We wrote this text for you. Based on our knowledge and research by befriended specialists. If at least one person who remembers our words notices what he puts into a drugstore basket, we will sleep peacefully.
Cosmetics are stuffed with ingredients that are not needed there at all. Many of them are bad for our health. After a single tapping of the cream with synthetic intermediates, we will not grow a second head, let's not get crazy. However, 365 days a year, we use several products a day, bathing, washing our head and caring for the skin. From that perspective, things don't look right, does it? It is enough to have elementary knowledge to recognize what to avoid.
SLS - SODIUM LAURYL SULPHATE
If you've ever heard about the superiority of natural cosmetics over a drugstore mass shop, we are convinced that SLS was one of the arguments supporting the thesis. For many years, the issue of its presence in cosmetics has aroused controversy. On the one hand, the barricades of scientists who show its carcinogenic effect, on the other hand, those who believe that it has no negative impact on our health. Ultimately, despite the alarming results of the research, it was allowed to be used in the group of cosmetics that come into short contact with the skin, such as shampoos, body and face cleansing gels, and bath lotions. But has anyone ever wondered what can happen if we do not rinse the cosmetic thoroughly in the rush of everyday life? It has been proven that the excess SLS left on the body penetrates the skin and accumulates in the tissues.
It is a cheap synthetic detergent, which several years ago was added to products degreasing surfaces in utility rooms. Stuffed into cosmetics, our shampoo or liquid foam beautifully and rinses easily. However, is it not so that after a colorful bath, our skin is dry, which asks for immediate application of the lotion? SLS effectively removes the protective lipid layer of the epidermis, which negatively affects its condition - also of the scalp, which directly leads to the formation of dandruff and excessive hair brittleness.
Instead, we recommend using natural soap to cleanse the skin in the bath. By adding a tablespoon of coconut oil and honey to a bathtub with warm water, they will nourish and moisturize your skin at the same time.
SILICONE OILS
Silicone oils are also on the black list of unnecessary ingredients in cosmetics. They have no nutritional properties. Nevertheless, you will find them in your shampoo, hair conditioner, cream and balm, make-up bases. Why? This is because thanks to their presence, the cosmetic spreads well on the skin, giving the impression that the skin is smooth and the hair is soft. Exactly - an impression. This word should be bolder, enlarged, and painted red to be sure. Silicones are foreign substances that the body cannot excrete. Hair, washed with shampoo with silicones, becomes covered with them - which perfectly weighs it down and makes it greasy faster. Let us know that this is not what you mean.
To make the cosmetic spread perfectly on the skin and leave it soft, enrich a portion of the product with a few drops of your favorite cosmetic oil. A little chia seed oil can become a new, healthy base for makeup. We recommend that you do not use chemical supplements. To enjoy healthy shiny hair, let's apply coconut oil to the hair.
MINERAL OILS
Sometimes, Ladies and Gentlemen, we tear our hair out. Our professional duty is to know what these bad ingredients in cosmetics are and how they work. Here we present mineral oils, a product obtained from the distillation of crude oil. Why is it stuffed with popular cosmetics? Note: to increase its volume. Unfortunately, not out of concern for the effects after application - quite the opposite. Mineral oils are not absorbed into the skin. They create a layer that disrupts gas exchange and weakens the skin's lipid protection.
