If you get up in the morning and it's white outside the window, you get hit by a snowball when closing the door, and the windshield scraper becomes a must-have piece of car equipment, it means winter is coming. At the same time the need to focus doubly on body care with particular emphasis on protection against sub-zero temperatures. Here is a mini-guide with the simplest ways to take care of your hair and feet.

HAIR CARE OILS FOR WINTER
First of all, wear a warm hat. We're willing to bet that everyone as a child was warned at least once about the need to wear a hat. As an adult, we often give up on this piece of clothing, which is a big mistake. Uncovered hair is exposed to cold and wind, it loses volume, is dull, electrified and brittle. In winter, hair requires special care. First of all, you should moisturize your hair.

Use conditioners and oils rich in amino acids, vitamins and fatty acids to protect the hair ends. Natural cosmetic oils work well for you.
Apply oil to your hair; at least twice a week apply oil to your hair from root to tip, wrap it in a towel, leave for at least 30 minutes, preferably several hours, then wash as usual. You can use coconut, murumuru or jojoba oil or choose the right one depending on the porosity of your hair,
Oils/butters recommended for low porosity hair: coconut, pomegranate seed, argan, castor, shea, cocoa,
Oils recommended for medium-pored hair: jojoba, argan, macadamia, sweet almond, sesame, hazelnut
Recommended for highly-resistant hair: hazelnut, hemp, grapeseed, apricot kernel, plum kernel, sweet almond, avocado, safflower, evening primrose, acai, baobab, blackcurrant seed, red raspberry seed, strawberry seed, borage seed, green coffee.
(2) Lips.

The skin of the lips does not have sebaceous glands, naturally defending it from the effects of adverse weather conditions. Remember to keep it covered with a layer of moisturizing cream or butter. Check out the mini shea butter that fits in every purse!

3. face and body.

Keeping your skin hydrated in winter is a challenge. Products should contain ceramides, fatty acids, glycerine, hyaluronic acid and antioxidants. Choose the consistency of the cosmetic according to your skin type: for dry skin you can use a thick cream or oil, for oily and combination skin - mix it in a 1:1 ratio with your favorite cream or balm. We especially recommend avocado oil, sweet almond oil and baobab oil.

Also, focus on caring for your skin in the evening. This way it will have a chance to regenerate much better. First apply cream to your face, then massage the driest parts of your body with oils (for example: jojoba, macadamia or sweet almond oil).

You can also try home remedies for irritated skin:

prepare 100g of shea butter, 4 tablespoons of coconut oil and 5 tablespoons of sweet almond oil; melt the butter and oil over steam, then add sweet almond oil and mix. Once cooled, beat the lotion with a whisk and apply to your entire body before going to bed.
Combine 4 tablespoons of avocado oil with a few drops of olive oil and two drops of lemon juice. Apply the mixture to dry skin and wash it off after 15 minutes. It will gently smooth, moisturize and soothe redness of the skin. It is suitable for all skin types.
Also remember to:

apply the face cream, additionally reinforced with moisturizing oils, on the skin under the foundation (it must take a while for the cream to be thoroughly absorbed),
Pay special attention to protecting the skin under your eyes,
Apply a thick layer of oils to the face, neck and décolleté at least once a week. Allow to absorb freely for at least 15 minutes, and wash off the residue,
Do not use bath lotions, foams or salts, which (although they smell beautiful) dry out the skin. In the winter, add a few tablespoons of gently nourishing oils, such as sweet almond and essential oils, to a tub of warm water.

4. hands and feet

Prevention is better than cure - warm gloves, socks and appropriate footwear are essential. However, if the skin on your hands and feet needs extra help, apply lotion, body butter or moisturizing oils after bathing. Apply a dab to your hands after every wash. At night, give them an extreme dose of nourishment with a thick layer of shea or cocoa butter.

Cold, wind, rain and snow are inevitable in winter. But that doesn't mean we have to accept its negative impact on our skin. With a little help we are able to enjoy smooth, moisturized and pleasant to the touch skin all year round.
